What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the website owner.
Cookies contain a small amount of data — often including a unique identifier — that is sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit. Depending on the type of cookie, it may persist on your device for different lengths of time.
Beyond cookies, we may also use similar technologies such as:
- Local storage: A browser feature that allows websites to store data on your device without expiry dates (used for client portal session persistence).
- Session storage: Similar to local storage, but cleared when you close your browser tab.
- Pixels and web beacons: Small images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to track whether a page has been loaded or an email opened. We use these minimally.
References to "cookies" in this policy include all of these similar technologies.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences
When you first visit our website, we display a cookie consent banner. You can choose to accept or decline non-essential cookies at that point.
You can update your preferences at any time by:
- Clearing the cookie named
ipaha_cookie_consentfrom your browser's cookie storage. This will cause the consent banner to reappear on your next visit. - Using your browser's built-in cookie controls to manage or delete specific cookies (see Section 7 below).
- Emailing us at hello@ipaha.co.uk to request information or assistance with your preferences.
For Google Analytics specifically, you can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these under Settings → Privacy or Settings → Site Permissions. Below are links to cookie management instructions for major browsers:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Mozilla Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences
- Apple Safari: support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471

You can also use browser extensions such as Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin, or similar tools to manage tracking technologies across all websites you visit.
Impact of Disabling Cookies
The impact of disabling cookies depends on the category:
- Strictly necessary cookies: Disabling these will significantly impair website functionality. The client portal cannot function without session cookies. We do not recommend disabling these.
- Analytics cookies: Disabling these has no impact on your experience of the website. We will simply have less data about site usage, which may slow our ability to identify and fix issues.
- Preference cookies: Disabling these means your preferences (such as cookie consent) may not be remembered between visits.
We have designed our website so that all core functionality works without analytics or preference cookies. You can read our content, submit enquiries, and access the chatbot without accepting any non-essential cookies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our cookie usage changes or as required by applicable law. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
If we add new categories of cookies or materially change our cookie use, we will display a new consent banner requesting your updated preferences.
